Half of the villages and cultivated lands have already been swept away by the cutting of the Chitral River at the Chitral Reshun side. Pasture spread over many areas has also been wiped out. The erosion of the river has been going on for the past several years but the government is not paying any attention to it. Now, due to the erosion of the river, the village consisting of 200 houses has been threatened and it is being feared that if this trend continues, soon more than 200 families may become homeless. Chitral, Reshun, Raghain Begalandeh and Ariyan are most affected. The government also did not pay any compensation for the lands and pastures that were washed away by the river last year. Now the remaining houses are also in danger.
