Karachi, May 05, 2010 – LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in mobile communications, announced the launch of the LG X200, a stylish, 10.1-inch netbook with an irresistibly clean slim design. Powered by Intel’s latest Atom processor, the Pine Trail-M, the LG X200 also comes with an upgradeable 2GB DDR2 memory and a Windows 7 Starter Edition, making it an absolute pleasure for users.
With a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, the LG X200 includes full High Definition (HD) LCD display. The resulting picture is strikingly clean and crisp, setting new standards in netbook graphics.
“Thanks to their compact size, affordable price tags and deceptively powerful performance, netbooks are becoming something of a fashion accessory, and even beginning to replace desktops and notebooks,” said Mr Ki Wan Kim, CEO of LG Electronics Middle East and Africa. “In this rapidly growing market, LG’s netbooks, crafted with superb design and outstanding features, will be a big hit with consumers who are tired of cookie-cutter products.”
Going way beyond the functional, the LG X200’s clean, slim design is a fashion statement in itself. Adorning a lightweight chassis – just 1.24 kg with a four-cell battery and 1.34 kg with a six-cell battery – the netbook’s dazzling white exterior, with silver, orange and lime trim, blends with any style and promises to be as enticing to the young and hip as it is to computer lovers. With its isolated, pebble-style keyboard, the LG X200 is also light and comfortable to the touch; and its screen, with virtually no bezel, maximizes the viewing area, letting users cut back on scrolling when they’re surfing the Web.
In its Smart Pack, LG’s smartest software suite, the LG X200 also includes such user-friendly features as Smart POP, which lets users reply directly to SMS messages via Bluetooth, and Smart On, which offers five-second booting to frequently used Web pages and seamless access to e-mail and social networking sites.
What’s more, the LG X200 includes a range of useful features such as a built-in webcam for conferencing or video chatting with friends, and an SRS TruSurround HD sound for richer audio. A four- or six-cell battery enables half-day or all day use on the road.

Karachi (PR) LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in mobile communications, recently announced the launch of its new compact full touchscreen phone, the LG GD510, or more simply, “Cookie POP”. The LG GD510 can be recharged utilizing the power of the sun. The new mobile handset reflects the company’s aggressive green initiatives and represents its commitment to creating a healthier environment for everyone.

Worldwide, the phone already topped one million unit sales just five months after its European and CIS release in October 2009. Cookie POP delivers all the essentials in communication, multimedia and entertainment, with an unembellished design and uncompromising quality.
“We at LG have successfully reduced 2.1-million tons of greenhouse gas emissions in the first half of 2009 through greater energy efficiency and improved manufacturing processes,” said Mr Ki Wan Kim, CEO of LG Electronics MEA. “We develop our products based on the company’s goal of eco-friendly sustainability. Our green policy is included in the handset’s entire lifecycle process, from raw materials through production, logistics, usage and disposal.”
LG’s environmental aspirations are demonstrated in the LG GD510’s solar-battery cover that uses the power of the sun to charge the phone. In addition to saving energy during the day, this also benefits users who are running low on power and are away from a charger at the time. Ten minutes under the sun* provides up to 2 minutes 15 seconds of talk time or up to 180 minutes of standby time. Features like Eco-tree and Eco-calculator under the phone’s CO2 menu allow people to track how much they have reduced CO2 emissions by using the solar cell battery.
The LG GD510 is environmentally friendly in other ways, including its construction. LG strictly adheres to the European Union’s RoHS requirements, and went even further with the LG GD510, ensuring that it does not contain any polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and is made free of BFR (brominated flame retardants) and CFR (chlorinated flame retardants) almost up to 99.9 percent.
Moreover, a highly efficient battery charger cuts power consumption and subsequently reduces carbon emissions. When the phone is fully charged, it beeps and displays a message on screen, reminding users to unplug the charger and save energy. Packaging made from recycled paper with soy ink printing is another way the LG GD510 is environmentally-conscious.
“By 2012, LG plans to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases emitted by our products to a level 15 percent lower than 2007 by enhancing the energy efficiency of our main products,” added Mr. Kim. “We will continue our role as a socially responsible leader in the mobile industry.”
In addition to its green attributes, the LG GD510 is efficient in other ways, too. It has a slim outer design and includes all the essential features without compromising usability or quality. As the smallest 3-inch full touchscreen phone on the market, the LG GD510 features a WQVGA wide screen surrounded by a narrow 4.8mm bezel and smooth metal body with a single button on the front that communicates the phone’s sense of simplicity. Fully fluent in multimedia, the LG Cookie POP plays music and movies in several popular file formats and eight gigabytes of expandable memory provides plenty of room for storing large media collections The LG GD510 also offers full multimedia features such as a 3MP camera suitable for taking photos to share online, as well as an MP3 player and web browser.
This sleek design is accented by a single button on the face that serves as the menu, end and cancel keys, depending on the phone’s mode. A slim strip of light around the button shines either green or red to indicate the handset’s status. The LG Cookie POP is crafted from brushed aluminum, giving it a high-end look and ensuring it feels solid in the hand, even when squeezed.
LG will launch other Cookie series phones – Cookie Plus (LG GS500), Cookie 3G (LG KM555) and Cookie Fresh (LG GS290) – in the first half of this year. All phones in this line will inherit basic traits from Cookie, but will also have fun and convenient features like a cartoon-inspired interface, full social media integration and LiveSquare™, which graphically keeps track of the most frequent contacts. Cookie Plus includes powerful multimedia and HSDPA, while Cookie 3G provides Wi-Fi and Cookie Fresh is another entry level touch screen phone with a stylish design

Sliding QWERTY Keypad and Interface Optimized for Social Networks Makes This One of the Most Connected Phones on the Market

Karachi – LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in mobile communications, has announced the launch of the LG GT350, a new QWERTY messaging phone with built-in applications for major social networks, all optimized for its 3-inch full touchscreen.

The LG GT350 improves upon the earlier LG KS360, a messaging phone that has sold over five million units worldwide since its launch in August 2008. Both phones have slide-out full QWERTY keypads designed specifically for the textually-minded.

More powerful than its predecessor, the LG GT350 includes upgrades to its messaging and social networking experience. Opening its slider reveals a large, comfortable four-line QWERTY keypad, versus a three-line keyboard on the earlier model, which makes typing messages almost as easy as on a computer. What’s more, the 3-inch WQVA screen on GT350 is now fully touch enabled, an upgrade from the partial touchscreen on the original KS360.

Social networking is a strong suit for the LG GT350. Its entire interface is optimized for social networks, providing full integration with sites like Facebook, Twitter. It aggregates information from multiple social networks onto one screen, making it easy to instantly check status updates, keep track of friends and respond to messages. For direct access to social networking sites, the LG GT350 has a dedicated shortcut key on the keypad. In addition to social networking, the keypad also includes dedicated buttons for accessing push e-mail, the web browser and instant messaging.

With real-time push e-mail, the LG GT350 immediately notifies users when they receive new e-mails. Registering multiple e-mail accounts is easy and messages are ready for viewing as soon as the GT350 intercepts them.
