CHITRAL, (SANA): Berir Development Organization (BDO) a local NGO strongly appreciated and hailed livelihood program and termed it mainstream for bringing positive changes and improvement in the life of common people.
As well as LP program is mailing stone of development of the valley they added. They said that Livelihood Program (LP) working here in Berir valley for the last one and half years and they completed so many projects which were never done after creation of Pakistan in this backward area. In this connection an extra ordinary meeting of BDO was held in its office under the chair of Unat Baig Kalash.
They thanked Swiss Development Corporation (SDC), IC and LP for supporting the area and 28 organizations are fully support them. The board of directors strongly criticized a news item in some local magazine and online paper regarding failure of LP program.
They said that a local journalist Mukhkamuddin has inserted wrong and baseless news that LP program has no tangible achievement except only paper work. As well as the reporter also has alleged that different programs of LP like agricultural plots, Non Formal Schools, Poultry and livelihood were badly failed and they are limited only to paper work which is strongly objectionable because the report is based on biased and jeopardize they termed it mere allegations.
They said that the reporter has published this news quoting statement of some elites of the area in a function at Government Middle school Birir on the occasion of celebrating parent’s day. They said the reporter was not present on that occasion and he sent baseless and wrong news item to weekly magazine and some online paper without proper and fact full information. It seems that the reporter is not a professional journalist and sending only baseless news to his organization.
They strongly condemned this baseless news item and warned the reporter to be avoiding from such biased and baseless reporting in future and to not deteriorate image of journalism which is a honorable profession.
They said that LP arranging all of its activities on the recommendation of cluster organizations and on merit basis. The Board members of BDO expressed great concern over that some local press reporters blackmailing other organizations only for their personal interest.
They said that Muhkamuddin is also member of Ayun Valley and Development Program AVDP and LP rejected their proposal to work jointly with them for Kalash community and that is why the press reporter using these cheap tactics to defame this fruitful and useful program for this remote and backward area. They also warned that they will approach the court of justice against such press reporters who causing for defaming and discouraging any developmental program for Chitral.
