Karachi, April 15, 2010: Associated Textile Consultants (ATC), the leading one stop B2B supplier of textile systems, technological components and services to the textile industry in Pakistan, organized two half day seminars aimed at helping to modernize and upgrade the textile sector. ATC also introduced visitors to the best in textile manufacturing equipment at Textile Asia 2010. A large number of trade professionals and textile experts attended the seminars and visited the ATC booth to learn about the latest in textile machinery, accessories and parts available. Visitors were able to get the required information in a well appointed setup with ATC textile experts present to answer queries.
The International Textile Asia 2010 Exhibition was held for the 7th successive year at the Karachi Expo Centre from 10 – 12 April 2010. The exhibition aims to focus on the immense buying selling potential of textile & garment machinery, accessories, raw material supplies, chemicals and allied services under one roof.
The textile seminars, entitled “New Technology for Value Added Textiles” and “Elite Compact Technology and Energy Efficient Spinning” were held on 10th and 12th April respectively. Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Federal Advisor, Ministry of Textiles graced the occasion as Chief Guest. A large number of foreign and local specialists shared their expertise including Dr. Raffaella Carabelli (Director Sales Fadis S.P.A – Italy), Mr. Gary Morris (Director Sales Navis TubeTex – USA), Mr. Muhammad Salman Siddiqui (United Towel Exporters), Mr. Masroor Ahmad Alvi (Ahmad General Mills), Syed Fawad Ahsen (Eastern Garments), Mr. Zahid Majeed (MD ATC), and Mr. Arshad Rafiq (ATC).
Dr. Mumtaz Hasan Malik (Dean Faculty of Engineering & Technology, National Textile University) presided the session on 12th April. Speakers included Mr. Shaheen Zafar (ATC), Mr. Mehmood Hussain (Gul Ahmed Textile Mills), Mr. Ghulam Murtaza (Indus Dyeing), and Mr. Tahir Saleem (Fazal Textile Mills). The diverse topics included winding systems, compactors, high temperature jumbo towel dyeing, narrow fabric machinery, high temperature jumbo flow dyeing, compacting spinning, energy efficient spinning, and role of steel rings and trevellers in spinning.
