Pashmina Wool, Craft Centre set up in Chitral

Daily Times – Staff Report  – CHITRAL: Women Development International President Nargis Jamal on Sunday inaugurated Pashmina Wool and Craft Centre in Susum, Karimabad.

Sultan Shah, the district naib nazim, said on the occasion that the centre’s establishment would create better job opportunities for women and thus, improving their socio-economic conditions. He said the centre was opened to train local women in the handicraft, carpet and dress making. He said initially, 62 women have enrolled themselves in the centre and the number would gradually increase.

He said the centre charged Rs 200 per month from these trainees, who were learning techniques of hand and machine embroidery, hand and machine wool knitting, dress cutting, stitching and designing, Crotia knitting, Chitrali patti work for waistcoat, carpet making and handicrafts.
