PESHAWAR: The Agribusiness Development and Diversification Project and Technical Education and Manpower on Friday signed an agreement to launch new courses in commerce colleges and vocational training centres in NWFP.
“Under the project, to be supervised by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock (MINFAL), institutions of those areas have been selected where potential crops have more production capacity,” a statement issued here said.
The project has selected commerce colleges of Dera Ismail Khan, Peshawar, Chitral and Thana areas to train the growers and traders in various crops including dates, potatoes and oranges.
“The programme is aimed at raising awareness among the farmers and traders and all the principals and faculty members of the aforementioned colleges have been trained in the agribusiness,” the statement added.
